Changing Perceptions

Part of our mission is to act as the voice of the children and young people we support. We aim to change perceptions and raise awareness of what it really means to have Down syndrome.

We do this through:

Supporting parents in meetings and offering advice
Helping with completing disability benefits forms
Talking about Down syndrome to as many people as we can such as other community organisations, schools and NHS organisations.
Following campaigns nationally and worldwide and contributing to consultations.
Taking action locally, whether that is writing to our MPs or supporting action through our social media channels.
Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day and raising awareness every year on 21st March.
Linking in with other local disability charities and organisations and other Down syndrome charities across the UK to get our voice heard.
