Fun in the Easter Sun
Last weekend marked our annual Easter event, the sun was shining, the chocolate was melting and fun was had by all.
Burton Agnes (www.burtonagnes.com) played host to DownRight Special and our families.
It was a great turnout, and by all accounts enjoyed by everyone. Events like these help all families bond and share stories and experience. Discussing issues such as feeding problems, or irritating coughs, but at the same time celebrating stories of achievements or success. Let me tell you from mingling with the crowd, there were more laughs than sad faces.
The day started with a picnic in the sun before the easter egg hunt began, following the 6ft easter bunny through the grounds and picking up chocolate as they went.
Anyone worrying about integration with society need not worry as we picked up some gatecrashers who were in amongst everyone searching for the eggs - oh well we had enough eggs!!
The day really was a belter, and a welcome to some sunnier weather with a chance to get out and about after a horrid winter.
We came away from this Easter trip having a great day and it was a Downright mum that said "Do you know before our child was born, we wouldn't have had a social circle such as this". So yet another positive!
More events are on the horizon... Watch this space!!!
