A special week

A special week

Well if you didn't know already, this week has been Down's Syndrome Awareness week.

There's the inspirational video from the Down Syndrome International website.

Closer to home, there's been coverage on Radio Humberside on Monday and today in the Hull Daily Mail and on their website too. A lot going on!

Something really made me realise today - with all this visibility Down's Syndrome has had this week, that may help you with where you are. I was really amazed by the positive voices coming from people, dispelling many of the fears I had when I worried "What would people think", "would my child be accepted" and "will they point and stare"

The raft of comments I've picked up from all these articles above show a great level of genuine acceptance of people - young and old, towards our kids. People are seeing our kids for children first, not the syndrome.
